Creative Research Lab 5:30 to 7:00PM The Creative Research Laboratory MFA Studio Art Candidates. Creative Research Lab (CRL) is a component of the University of Texas at Austin College of Fine Arts in the Department of Art and Art History. As a creative incubator, it is designed to facilitate collaboration between artists and scholars and connect with diverse communities at large. Gallery Shoal Creek 6:30 to 8:00PM- Art and literature intersect through WORDS for Art Week's ART SPACES at Gallery Shoal Creek. The exhibition WORDS centers on Austin artist Laurie Frick's large abstract collages where words, patterns, and colours merge to reference memory. Partnering with the Texas Book Festival, the gallery commissioned Texas writer Mary Helen Specht to write a prose response to Ms. Frick's visual imagery.
