Art Spaces is a series of collaborative happenings hosted by local galleries, studios, and exhibit spaces.

Wally Workman Gallery - Watercolorist Jan Heaton and The Ladybird Johnson Wildflower Center present "Art in Nature, Nature in Art". Celebrating it's 30th year, the gallery offers two stories of exhibition space where one can view over 40 emerging and nationally collected artists. Tuesday, April 20 5-7 pm

Artpost - Artpost presents: an "EASTSIDE ARTS MASH-UP" of diverse yet complementary works in oil, acrylic, wood, clay, metal, stone, wax, textiles, transistors, capacitors, diodes, LED's and more. This broad ranging consortium of accomplished artisans presents an interpretive exhibition of quality fine art and sculpted jewelry, spatial scale experiential art, and a mind-bending, multi-media digital showcase of experimental audio-visual effects, with respite provided by original animated and short film offerings. Big Medium - Open Studio - Meet Austin artist Rebecca Bennett and Judy Paul. See their energetic mix of abstract and representational contemporary works jam packed into their new shared studio at Big Medium. Wednesday, April 21 6-10pm

Pump Project - Open Artist Studios and Demo Night - Have you ever wondered how art is made? A variety of artists will do demonstrations of their techniques. Get an up-close-and-personal look at the process of art and craft! Texas State University's student organization will be showing work in the gallery and our artists will have their spaces open for viewing. Wednesday, April 21 6-10pm

Pump Project Satellite - Open studios - See more artists at work in Pump Project's Satellite space, learn about printmaking with the Women Printmakers of Austin in their printing studio. 7-9 PM. Figure Forum life drawing session. Whether you are a novice or an expert, have fun brushing up on your drawing skills in this open session. Wednesday, 4/21. 6-9pm

SODALITAS - (Jana Swec, Joseph Phillips and Shea Little) explores the process of collaboration through a variety of media. Their work deals with issues ranging from their own interpersonal dynamics to globalization and international politics. SODALITAS will embark on two walks, and they encourage participation from anyone interested in joining them. The group will begin at the same location, but may not necessarily move together, an important aspect of the Walks is for the traveler to take their own path, whether they pursue their own route or walk with others. Each member of the walk is encouraged to document their path with photography, video, audio, mapping and/or collecting objects found along the way. The documentation of these walks will be displayed at the Big Medium gallery and are in conjunction with Fusebox Festival.

Walk #2 - Wednesday, April 28th 10:00 am - 5:00 pm
The second walk starts under the Mopac Expressway on Veterans Drive.

Gallery Shoal Creek - Located in central Austin, Gallery Shoal Creek showcases contemporary and traditional art forms. This spring, Austin artist Shawn Camp presents Established Parameters, a series of large scale, abstract paintings exploring the human need to create order from disorder, in the gallery's open spaces. On Thursday, April 22, noted poet/writer Lyman Grant, Dean of Arts & Humanities, Austin Community College, will present SILENCE + REFRAIN, a literary response to Shawn Camp's visual environment. Thursday, April 22 6:30-8pm, Dialogue 7pm

Davis Gallery - Davis Gallery is pleased to present Sandra Langston; New Work from Southern Italy opening Thursday, April 22 with a reception for the artist from 7 to 10pm. The artist first traveled to the area where she now makes her home over twenty years ago as a member of an archeological dig team sponsored by the University of Texas Classics department, doing research and excavation at Metaponto, on the southern coast of Italy. Joining Sandra on Saturday, April 24th from 2 - 4pm will be Ann Patterson and Boyce Cabaniss, teammates from the dig who will join Sandra in a lively and informative discussion of their experiences at Metaponto, as well as their collaboration as model and muse in many of the artist's paintings. Thursday, April 22 Opening Reception 7-10pm and Saturday April 24 Group Discussion 2-4pm

Austin Center for Photography at Caffe Medici - Austin Center for Photography will be showcasing work produced by participants from Magnum photographer David Alan Harvey's workshop that took place during SXSW 2010. The photographers developed personal photographic essays over the intensive 5-day workshop. As this workshop took place during SXSW the artist's photo essays will be paired with not only written descriptions of their experience, but also a live local Austin band. The hope is to provide you the same intensity and sensory saturation that the participants experienced. d berman gallery - d berman gallery specializes in diverse contemporary art, with an emphasis on work by regional artists. The gallery artists represented include many established artists and some rising talents. Book signing and gallery talk with Lance Letscher. Saturday April 24 1pm
