Welcome to Art Week Austin

Engaging people with great art is central to the mission of Art Alliance Austin. We believe artists play a critical role in the evolution of the contemporary city and that public space represents a forum where arts and the civic identity come into conversation. In 2012 we transformed the city’s streets, plazas, open spaces, and underutilized built environment into sites of exploration, creating opportunities for the community to engage with great art and, ultimately, each other and our city. In 2012 Art Week Austin expanded beyond its own timeframe; our “week” consisting of over twenty days of programming. We are proud to have presented a collection of public events, commissioned projects, partnerships and collaborations, keeping the Alliance’s commitment to supporting Austin’s most promising artists and arts organizations to build a vibrant informed community.

More details for 2013 to come!
