About Greg Davis:
Davis is a National Geographic Image Collection Photographer and an Ambassador for the Austin non-profit Well Aware, which provides innovative and sustainable solutions to the problems of water scarcity and contamination in Africa. His collectible works hang in private and institutional collections worldwide.
In 2013, Davis was commissioned by the Museum of the Southwest to create a solo exhibition under the theme of “Myth and Legend”. He targeted the world’s largest pilgrimage, India’s Kumbh Mela, as his subject. To Davis, it was both mythical and legendary. Daunting in it’s scale, to say it was overwhelming would be an understatement. The Indian government estimated upwards of 100,000,000 pilgrims in attendance over the fifty five day event, each there to connect to something greater than themselves. As of 2018, these works have been exhibited in eight museums, art centers and cultural centers in Texas.
All pieces from the Museum Collection are printed on archival Canson Infinity Museum Rag Paper with Canon Lucia EX archival pigment inks. Each piece is then treated with Hahnemuhle’s UV Protective Spray Coating to further protect and maximize the archival quality of the artwork. Each piece is hand signed, numbered in a limited edition of 50, titled, embossed and comes with a Certificate of Authenticity.
